I believe a proper Martini should be made with gin, so this vodka "martini" is already breaking all the rules for me. So, why not infuse the vodka with a jalapeno? For all those low sugar, low carb New Years Resolutions, this cocktail can be made ahead of time and stored in the freezer. Just mix with ice and strain into a martini glass with jalapeno stuffed olives. This will make you break your Dry January on day one.

Ingredients

  • 4 ozIceberg Vodka
  • .5 ozDry Vermouth
  • 10-12 eachSliced Jalepenos (for Infusion)

Tools

  • Bottle of Iceberg Vodka infused with a sliced jalapeno overnight

  • mixing glass

  • Hawthorne Strainer

  • bar spoon

A day before, slice up a jalapeño and add it to your bottle of iceberg vodka. If doing a smaller amount add your vodka over jalapeño slices till slices are covered. Check every 30 minutes till the heat meets your preference. You can put into a dark place for up to 24 hours for real heat. Fine strain and you are ready. Pour 4 oz of your jalapeño infused vodka and vermouth into a mixing glass with ice. Stir and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with jalapeño stuffed olives.
