Either way, “Chartreuse and menthols” from Conor Oberst’s “Napalm.” That’s the line. That’s the inspo. Chartreuse + mint + tobacco bitters is the result.
Inspiration to execution wasn’t exactly rocket science once I realized how perfect the bitters were for this, but the end result is complex and delicious!

Ingredients:
- Black Blended Rum
- Pot Still Lightly Aged Rum
Instructions:
Add mint leaves and lime juice to a tall glass and muddle gently. Add remaining ingredients and fill 3/4 of the way with crushed ice. Swizzle with a barspoon or bois lélé until glass is frosty. Add ice to fill and swizzle further. Top with more ice, and grate fresh nutmeg on top. Garnish with mint sprig and swizzle stick. Serve with a napkin wrapped around the glass.
