Bitter Godfather
By Stan Bissell,
This drink is named for the 1972 Marlon Brando movie, “The Godfather.” The original recipe calls for just two ingredients: equal parts blended whiskey and amaretto. That version was too sweet for me, so I went for a drier version by scaling back the amaretto and I added orange bitters. It’s a cocktail that you can’t refuse.
Ingredients:
- Blended Scotch
- Amaretto
Instructions:
Add ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and strain into a rocks glass over ice garnish with a citrus twist.
If you substitute the scotch with bourbon, the variation is called The Boss.
