"Watermelon Jalapeño Margarita ",
I’ve made versions of this cocktail as summertime specials for a few different restaurants I’ve worked. It comes out light and refreshing and is something I look forward too! The cold prepped watermelon syrup keeps it’s light and fresh flavor since it’s never heated or cooked like many other syrups. Its an easy recipe that can be adjusted to suit many needs and tastes.
Ingredients:
- Espolón Reposado Tequila
- Watermelon, Mint, Basil And Jalapeño Syrup
Instructions:
Prep glass by rimming with Tajin chili lime seasoning.
Add tequila, watermelon syrup, lime juice and 1-2 jalapeño slices (depending on how spicy you like it) to shaker, add ice and shake for 10-15 seconds. Pour entire contents into rimmed glass and top off with more ice. Serve with a lime wedge as well.
Watermelon syrup also makes a great base for a watermelon agua fresca non alcoholic drink.
2 oz watermelon syrup, 1 oz lime, 1 oz water (or unsweetened coconut water if you feeling fancy) and serve over ice with a nice mint garnish!
