"1. Quality spirits 2. Fresh Fruit Juice, especially citrus 3. Real, high quality syrups These are 3 core tenants of craft cocktails, and I really screwed up by ignoring one of the three (hint, it was the spirits). Fitting for this cocktail, oft maligned as a non-craft cocktail (by me), the Cosmo has had a revival in the community. I don’t like to use “supermarket” juices in my cocktails so I juiced up nearly a full bag of cranberries to get 1/2 cup to make a batch for friends last night. The real motive here was to get rid of the spillover of nearly empty vodka and rum bottles on my kitchen counter, and this was a critical mistake: this cocktail did not come out as perfect as it looks! Using a cheap blend of vodka and big brand rum created a less-than-stellar cocktail: who could’ve guessed!? It didn’t taste bad though and Liber and Co’s Real Grenadine added to the bitter fresh cranberry juice brought a lot of flavor and life to this drink. The bitters give a touch more complexity and a cherry note to go with the red fruit vibe and voila: a tasty if imperfect drink to enjoy with my friends.", "undefined", "Cosmopolitan",
