"Properly Improper Smash | Crafted Pour"

"This is a Proper Smash and it will get you properly smashed, that much we can all agree on. But some simple choices are what cause this to be properly improper: the combo of the citrusy, botanical (Properly Improper) Brockman’s gin with an herbal yet smokey mezcal; quadroupling down on the herbaciousness with the Chartruese, Mint, Fernet and Eucalyptus; and the sheer gall of taking a spiritous, refreshing drink and adding so much bitterness and still expecting it to turn out delicious. However, Brockman’s prides itself on being Properly Improper and so do I. This was VERY delicious; the sweetness of the berries and gum syrup balanced all that bitterness and herbaciousness, with the muddled limes giving just enough acidicty to really feel like a perfect serve. Ice cold during an unseasonably warm and sunny November day, this cocktail is a refreshing throwback to summer and a reminder to everyone that you don’t have to be proper if you don’t fuckin’ feel like it. In mixology and in life, I thrive on being Properly Improper, and Brockman’s tag line has given me a determinedly fitting phrase to help me to define my own approach to mixology. Cheers!", "undefined", "Properly Improper Smash",
