Ants on a Log
By The Flippin Mixologist,
I’ve been making a lot of Ants on a Log lately for 9… here’s a liquid version for us adults to accompany our stolen bites…
Thanks, The Bitter Truth, for the great celery bitters!
Ingredients:
- Rum Raisin Syrup
- Peanut Butter Whiskey
Instructions:
3/4 oz rum raisin syrup
1/2 oz peanut butter whiskey
1 1/2 oz whiskey
4 good dashes of Bitter Truth celery bitters
Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Add ice and shake until cold. Strain into a glass with a large ice cube and garnish with a few of the reserved raisins from the rum raisin syrup.
For the syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup raisins
3 oz dark rum
Heat water in a pot and add sugar, stirring until dissolved. Add raisins and allow to come to a simmer. Simmer for 2 minutes, then turn heat to low, cover, and allow raisins to steep. After at least 30 minutes, add rum, stir, and strain through a coffee filter. Save the raisins for later in an air-tight container. Allow syrup to cool, bottle, and store in the fridge for 2-3 weeks.
