"I watched the new live-actioned The Little Mermaid starring the beautiful and enchanting Halle Bailey. As a hardcore OG Ariel, I was enchanted by Halle’s interpretation of the character. She was innocent without idiocy, brave yet cautious, and the hero of her own story. Even her voice sounded like the original animated version played by the incomparable Jodi Benson. Did I think that movie was better than the 1989 version? My 19yr old former self would have to say no. Did I think it was a fabulous movie on its own? I did, indeed.
