I wanted a pre-dinner drink before the curry I planned to make and this was the cocktail I dreamed up.
- Sauza Commemorative Anejo Tequila
- Dolin Sweet Vermouth, Cardamom Infused*
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with plenty of ice. Stir until well chilled and strain into coupe. Garnish with a whole cardamom pod and a star anise.
*To get extra cardamom flavor, add several crushed cardamom pods to your sweet vermouth of choice. Store in fridge to infuse until ready to make your drink, the strain out the pods.
**To make the syrup, combine a 1:1 ratio of honey in a pot. Add several crushed cardamom pods and a pinch of maldon salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the honey and water mix, bring to a simmer, then remove from heat. Cover and let cool for a few hours until it tastes like cardamom. Strain into a bottle or jar and stir in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.
