The chocolate and coffee flavours are a fantastic pairing with the bourbon and make a wonderful after dinner drink. I tried this using a coffee liqueur and using chilled espresso with a bit of simple syrup, and both are great drinks (the espresso version is less sweet).
Ingredients:
- Maker's Mark
- Kahlua Coffee Liqueur
Instructions:
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir until cold. Pour into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with three whole coffee beans.
In place of the coffee liqueur, you can substitute 1 oz (30 mL) of chilled espresso and 0.5 oz (15 mL) simple syrup.
Either dark or clear crème de cacao work well in this recipe.
