"New Ruddell | Crafted Pour"

"Ad/ It’s International Whiskey Day (not to be confused with World Whiskey Day in May) and what better way to celebrate then with an interesting new Bourbon cocktail! Ruddels Mill makes their high end bourbon based on the original Kentucky mash before “bourbon” had an official classification. Pretty cool! They have a cocktail on their website called the Old Ruddel, an Old Fashioned with orange liqueur and aromatic bitters. This inspired me to start out with that template but elevate it to a conneisuer’s concoction and bring in some bitter cacao and berry notes from my favorite amaro and some coffee and chocolate flavor with Mr Black’s Coffee Liqueur and Bitter Truth Chocolate Bitters. Orange pairs incredibly well with chocolate and coffee, and the high quality modifiers down to Liber and Co’s perfect Demerara Syrup lend themselves to working with this tasty, high quality bourbon. These are all pretty powerful flavors so I will admit that this was also designed to test if I could count on this whiskey in MY cocktails. If I’m being honest, you wont see much Irish or Canadian Whiskey on my shelf; the more delicate flavors don’t lend themselves to my style of cocktail as well as a smooth but assertive Bourbon or an aggressive Rye. Ruddel’s Mill passes the test, however, and it’s sweet vanilla quickly turned spice palate works well in this drink. ", "undefined", "New Ruddell",
