Kumquats are such a wonderful thing. Whenever our local COOP has them, my family is in raptures! I was rolling one in my fingers this evening, thinking about how I could make a drink with them, when all of my girls suddenly went, “OMG, you should make a drink with kumquats!”
So here is what I came up with. I really like it. I hope you do, too.
Ingredients:
- Rye Whiskey
- Passion Fruit Honey Syrup
Instructions:
Aggressively muddle 4 kumquats in a shaker. You really want to release those sweet oils and bright, tart juice.
Add the rest of the ingredients and ice and shake well. Strain into your glass with a large 🧊. Express a few kumquat over the top and put on a pick for garnish.
