"Mestizo | Crafted Pour"

"Part of growing up in agricultural California is ethnic diversity. I myself am a mixture of Indigenous Mexican and various European bloodlines. I think most of us here would agree that we love a good mix. Hmm? 😏 Okay, anyways, "Mestizo" means "half and half". When the Spanish came to Mexico to do whatever they felt they needed to do, they ended up creating some Half Mexican and Half Spanish babies. These kids would be referred to as Mestizo. I originally felt like doing something that would celebrate and combine the differences between the two worlds. After brainstorming, I remembered the "White Mexican". You know, that White Russian that uses RumChata? I decided to break that down and approach it with a more traditional build. At the end of the day, you're still drinking a White Russian, but this one tastes better! Kind Regards! -Drew P.S. I know in the one pictured I went heavy on the cream. If you want my Cafe De Olla' recipe, just ask! Ingredients: - Vanilla Vodka - Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur Instructions: Slam a Rocks glass on your bar mat as hard as you physically can... please don't actually. Set aside some vanilla cream. Build in glass without ice and give it a little spin. Add crushed ice until it reaches just below the top of the glass. Slowly float your cream using your bar spoon back. Grate some whole nutmeg over the cocktail evenly. Add a single Star of Star Anice and a VERY optional firestick, I prefer orange peel myself, it's a little more traditional as far as Cafe de Olla' goes. As long as you get some contrast though.
