"Salty Clifford Spritz | Crafted Pour"

"The Salty Dog is an older cocktail but it checks out, simply vodka or gin with grapefruit and a salted rim. Can’t be bad, right? Of course, I take these things to 11 so I had to make it crafty. First, I chose vodka, which if you know me you know I am NOT a huge fan, but there is wisdom in it’s use: infusions. Also, Monkey in Paradise happens to be super smooth due to 7-times distillation, so as far as vodka goes it’s a damn good one. I went with hibiscus here for a slight florality to compliment the heavy citrus notes and the spicy tumeric syrup, which did not overpower but definitely made itself known. Finally, I have nothing if not a ton of varieties of salt laying around and Twang’s grapefruit salt is delicious but I wanted to try out a new (to me) spice, fennel. My buddy got a marg with a fennel rim out last week and it was an awesome contrast and it worked well here, contrasting the bright flower and citrus with an earthy anise touch. This drink was brilliant but, making it again I would skip the soda. I love bubbles as much as anyone but this cocktail did not need it.", "undefined", "Salty Clifford Spritz",
