Batanga
By Bryan Monroe,
Created in 1961, at least that’s where typical create is given to an individual named Don Javier Delgado, a restaurant owner in Mexico. The story goes that the cocktail is named after a particularly stocky patron, with Batanga meaning thick in the middle. Make sure to continue reading to see why there’s a knife as a garnish as well.
Ingredients:
- Tequila Blanco
- Fresh Lime Juice
Instructions:
In a salt-rimmed glass, add the first 3 ingredients with ice, top with Coke, and stir with the knife used to cut other ingredients to add additional flavors. Preferably a wood-handled knife, which I don’t own.
