"When I started thinking about this drink, it was going to be a reconstructed Captain’s Grog—as in, grapefruit bitters instead of juice, vanilla liqueur instead of extract, etc. That’s still a great idea for an up drink that I’m working on, but this become something else.
Bright yet rich, with a bit of funk and spice on the back end. Regardless of where it started, I’m delighted with where it ended up. Cheers!

When I started thinking about this drink, it was going to be a reconstructed Captain’s Grog—as in, grapefruit bitters instead of juice, vanilla liqueur instead of extract, etc. That’s still a great idea for an up drink that I’m working on, but this become something else.

Ingredients:
- Blended Aged Rum
- Pot Still Lightly Aged Rum
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a drink mixer tin. Blend for 5 seconds. Open pour into a double old-fashioned glass and top with more ice. Garnish with a mint sprig.
