"Is the triumphant Styx song in your head now? I hope so. For today’s #whatifwednesday I have a ✨happy✨dating app story, so climb aboard. ⛵️ The most common comments I get are along the lines of: “I’m so glad I never had to use dating apps, it sounds miserable.” This is fair because I’ve been sharing mostly miserable and/or outrageous stories (check out Monday’s if you haven’t yet)! But I’ve had a lot of positive experiences on the apps, too. They’re just boring to write about 😂 This story, though, will at least give you a good hypothetical to consider. ⛵️ A few years ago, I was visiting a friend who’d just moved to upstate New York. She was swiping on Tinder for dating purposes, but matched with someone who said in his profile that he was expressly *not* looking for dates or romance. He lived on his sailboat, and was offering to take people out on the Hudson River for the day to meet friends in the area. Her house was a block from the river, so we agreed to meet up him on the dock Saturday morning. ⛵️ My friend packed snacks and I made a big mason jar full of this cocktail for everyone to share (swipe for the recipe featuring foraged pineapple weed). The Tinder guy met us exactly on time, and there was another woman on the houseboat as well. They were co-workers, possibly partners, it was unclear - but they were both absolutely lovely people and we had a gorgeous day out on the water getting to know them. ⛵️ ", "undefined", "Come Sail Away",
