"The latest bottle in my bar is the Prospect Reserve Whiskey from @twoeaglesdistillery. Thank you for sending this over @teamcraftedpour! It starts with a seven year aged Kentucky whiskey which is then finished with a year in red wine barrels. This process gives it a unique fruitiness, with notes of vanilla and orange making for a particularly delicious bottle of whiskey! I wanted to build on these flavors while keeping the specs relatively simple.
Flavor composition: dried fruit + citrus + vanilla
Starting with a base of the whiskey, I added some Giffard Pamplemousse to highlight the citrus notes of the whiskey. To lighten the sip, there’s some dry vermouth in there which makes this a cousin of the Manhattan. To play around with the spice in the cocktail, I stirred this drink with a bay leaf which imparts its flavors due to the agitation with ice. I was delighted with how this turned out, it’s perfect for fall!",
