Bourbon-Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup

Pure maple syrup matured in spent bourbon barrels (or finished with bourbon-soaked oak), picking up bourbon's vanilla-caramel-oak character on top of the maple base. Distinct from charred-oak maple (oak-only character without bourbon's grain-vanilla note) and from plain Grade A maple. Used as the sweetener in bourbon-forward Old Fashioneds, maple whiskey sours, and aged-spirit stirred drinks where the bourbon character reinforces the base spirit.
