Sour Cherry Liqueur

Sour-cherry liqueur (Cherry Heering / Wasatch Blossom / Heering style) — brandy or neutral spirit macerated with whole sour cherries (often with pits) and sweetened, yielding deep ruby color, tart-sweet stone-fruit character, gentle almond, and warming spirit. Distinct from clear distilled maraschino. Used in Singapore Slings, Blood and Sand, and cherry-forward stirred cocktails.
