A Scottish Mai Tai. I bought this bottle of Laphroaig a while ago to make some cocktails in Death & Co. It was not what I was expecting lol. I hated it in every cocktail that I used it in and it wasn't much better on its own so it has been collecting dust ever since. I decided to revisit it this weekend and wow, what a difference. Still not my favourite whiskey but I can actually enjoy it now I wanted to make a cocktail with it as I'm trying to slim up my bar. I've had good luck with the orange...

A home enthusiast with a passion for all things tiki! Rum is my favourite poison, but I also love Whiskey, Brandy and just about every other spirit. I'm fairly new to cocktail making but I quickly fell in love with it and enjoy the pursuit of finding my new favourite libation. Cheers! ...

Shake everything with ice and strain into a crushed ice filled rocks glass. Garnish with the orange twist and mint sprig
Editor's Note
A bold Mai Tai riff that swaps rum for peated Islay Scotch. The Laphroaig's intense smoke is met with spicy ginger and bright, acid-adjusted orange for a complex, powerful sipper.
