View More1. Add 1 large orange slice (cut in half) and 1 sprig rosemary to a cocktail shaker with no ice. Muddle to release the juices and oils. 2. Add the whiskey, maple syrup, bitters and ice. Shake to combine (30 seconds). 3. Add a large ice ball to a double rocks glass. Strain the cocktail over the ice ball. 4. Place a large sprig of rosemary upright into the glass. Spread the stems a little. Light the rosemary on fire allowing it to smoke. Cheers!
Editor's Note
Maple syrup and muddled orange provide a rich, fruit-forward counterpoint to the spice of rye. Charred rosemary adds an aromatic, smoky finish that defines the drink's seasonal character.
