Our first event in Lake Arrowhead. (How's that even possible...? Do people up here not celebrate and party!?!?) Since it was a smaller event, with an amazing view, we brought along some Stalk and Barrel Whisky to play with. We are so spoiled with amazing domestic Whisky, that we sometimes forget about the amazing liquid being produced just up north.... in a little land called Canada. This Whisky is light yet has a nice malty taste to it. We thought it would be a perfect pairing for a Mint Jul...

Add mint leaves and elderflower cordial or liqueur to your tin. Gently muddle leaves. Add whisky and ice, then shake. Add soda water. Strain into glass with fresh ice (preferably crushed). Add mint sprig and enjoy.
Editor's Note
Canadian whisky brings a light, malty character to this Julep, while elderflower liqueur replaces traditional sugar for a floral, aromatic finish.
