I’ve made a Rum Old Fashioned in the past with a Jamaican Rum but this time I wanted to use this flavorful Falernum Tropical Cocktail Syrup by BG Reynolds as the sweetener. This did not disappoint by any means, the sweetness and flavors of the spices and lime pair so good with the rum and aromatic bitters.
Ingredients

In a mixing glass, add all ingredients and stir with ice to incorporate and chill the cocktail. Strain over a large ice cube, garnish and enjoy!
Editor's Note
Falernum syrup swaps traditional sugar, lending tropical spice and lime zest to a classic Rum Old Fashioned.
