I finally have a bottle of Nonino at home, so let’s have a Paper Plane riff, one of my favorite amaro cocktails!

First, you’ll need to infuse the rum with a black tea (I used Russian Caravan). Add a tea bag per 2 oz of rum or a teaspoon of loose tea. Steep in the fridge for 2 hours, then strain for future use. To make the cocktail, add all ingredients to your mixing tin with plenty of ice. Shake until frosty, then double-strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a lemon peel, expressing the oils over the glass. Cheers!
Editor's Note
Tea‑infused dark rum adds earthy depth to this Paper Plane riff, while Aperol and Nonino balance bright citrus with herbal bitterness.

This sounds like a fantastic riff on a modern classic! The tea infusion is such a clever touch—do you find that the Russian Caravan adds a specific smoky note that pairs well with the Denizen rum?
