Took a spin with variations on the Old Fashioned, one of my favorite 'sipper' cocktails. Mixed it up with one major difference - a glorious rinse of my rocks glass...with absinthe. From there, I stirred and stirred and sipped and sipped. Oh, happy day.

Ingredients

2 oz
Rye Whiskey

.25 oz
Simple Syrup

3 Dashes
Angostura Aromatic Bitters

.25 oz
Cold Water

1 Rinse
Absinthia Absinthe Verte

Rinse a rocks glass with Absinthia Absinthe. Add and stir all ingredients. Pour over a large ice block and garnish with a chocolate-covered, orange slice. OMG, this was amazing.

Absinthe rinse adds a herbal veil to a classic rye Old Fashioned, while chocolate‑orange garnish lifts the finish with bright citrus and cocoa notes.
