Black Negroni

Debates about the use of the name “Negroni” aside, this drink is absolutely delicious. I want to go back and try some more variations (gin instead of aquavit, different Amari, etc.) as well— but it definitely works as it stands. I recommend a bold coffee liqueur here; I used a nice, dark, roasty one gifted by @borscismarzano. Also, plop shots are so much fun (thanks, off-camera flash). Do you prefer the messy splash, swirling currents, or the levitating peel??

I love trying new ingredients, learning new techniques, and of course, creating new cocktails-- especially ones influenced by food in some way. I also love the photography/videography side of things. I’m incredibly passionate about my craft but try not to take myself too seriously. Cheers!...

Editor's Note
Equal parts of aquavit, mezcal, and a trio of bitter liqueurs create a dark, complex profile. This is a slow-sipping, high-intensity riff on the classic Negroni template.
