Snow day = something to warm you up. Apple pie in a drink. I love a whiskey sour in any form. I love to spice them, to accentuate them with seasonal produce, to make them for friends and family. This one - this may be one of my favorites. Reminiscent of apple pie, delicately spiced, frothy from a much-shaken egg white. When I add something with some sweetness, I usually omit or greatly reduce the simple. In this case, I reduced to make sure I didn’t lose the balance.

By day, I work as a Transition Specialist, which means I work with young adults with disabilties 18-21 in age in helping them and their families with all things transition. I also work with teachers, support staff, and others in helping our young adults reach and meet their goals. It's a fun and rewarding job - but sometimes it's nice to just come home and shake up a yummy cocktail. I did bartend in college, and more recently, I bartend at a local event venue occasionally. ...

Add all ingredients to a shaker. Dry shake. Add ice and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a dehydrated lemon slice.
Editor's Note
Bourbon and apple cider find a perfect partner in allspice-heavy Pimento Dram. A classic sour build ensures the spice-forward profile remains bright and drinkable.
