This is a riff on a Whiskey Sunrise from LeFern in Palm Springs. I’ve substituted Rye for the Whiskey and Macadamia Liquor for amaretto.

Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey

Trader Vic’s Macadamia Nut Liquor

1 oz
Lemon Juice

1 oz
Orange Juice

“Ain’t That A Kick In The Head”

Add all ingredients to a shaker. Shake with 8oz pebble ice. Dirty dump into a rocks glass and add additional ice if needed to fill the glass.

Editor's Note

Rye replaces the traditional whiskey in this Sunrise riff, while macadamia nut liqueur adds a tropical, nutty depth to the citrus-forward base.
