View MorePour a measure of Suze into an ice-filled rocks glass and top with a dry sparkling wine. Give a short, gentle stir to mix, then garnish with a lemon peel and cucumber spear.
Editor's Note
Suze's earthy gentian bitterness cuts through the crisp bubbles of Prosecco. A clean, sophisticated alternative to the standard spritz.

Suze is a pleasingly bitter French apéritif made from gentian root, which grows in the Alpine mountains of Switzerland and southern France. It really captures the essence of the earth. Suze has a beautiful soft citrus undertone and, though it's bitter, it also provides some sweetness, and remains very refreshing.
