There needs to be a better method of keeping fresh herbs and spices, um, fresh. Bought some fresh mint for Mojito night and the clock was ticking. What to do with all that mint? JULEPS! Mint Juleps ! I added some strawberry to kick it into high gear.

Carefree Bourbon 90 Proof

8-10 each
Mint Leaves

Strawberries

.5 oz
Simple Syrup

.5 oz
Strawberry Purée

Fresh mint and a strawberry

Strawberry Ice Crush ice with about 4 strawberries until slushy. Set aside. Then... . Muddle fresh mint and 4 strawberries (halved) in 1/2 oz of simple syrup and 1/2 oz of strawberry purée. Once muddled, add: 2 oz Carefree Bourbon . Shake and then pour over half a glass of the strawberry ice. Stir and top with more of the ice, garnishing with mint and a strawberry.
