I was feeling a bit sassy yesterday, and really wanted a malt whiskey cocktail. I figured the single malt from Shadow Ridge distillery would fit my mood perfectly with it's notes of malt, toffee, dark chocolate, and coffee. Now what flavors to pair with this ??? 🤔 The first thing that came to mind was cherries, and just so happens I have this new cherry Amaro from Stambecco that fits this perfect. Took a sniff and yes, this was it. The Red Rinse was born.

Add red wine to snifter. Swirl it in the glass and discard the rest. (Rinse the glass) Set the glass aside. Add the remaining ingredients to your mixing glass. Add ice and stir for count of 15-20 seconds. Strain into snifter. Express lemon oil from your peel over cocktail. Rub the rim of the glass with peel. Lastly, either make a rose out of the peel or twist it and drop it in. Cheers.
Editor's Note
A sophisticated, layered sipper combining rich single malt with bittersweet cherry amaro and a tannic red wine rinse.

This sounds so good. I’m going to have to keep an eye out for the Stambecca (sp?) and give that a try!
