When Dented Brick sent over their vodka to try, I knew I wanted to do more than mix up a single cocktail. The vodka is a great base to build from, crafted from grain neutral spirit and artesian spring water for a clean but unique taste of the mountains. Peel the blood oranges and add peels to a plastic container with the sugar. Seal and shake to coat the peels. Let sit at room temperature for 2 days. Juice the peeled oranges and save for later. After 2 days strain the syrup from the peels and add to a pan with the water and bring to a simmer. Add the figs and poach for 12-15 min. Remove figs and add blood orange juice and vodka.
