This is a negroni with an island feel. The rum takes the place of the gin in this riff on the classic cocktail. When I buy a pineapple, I pull off the nicest fronds and throw them in a bag in the freezer and then pull them out to garnish cocktails.

Editor's Note
Gold rum replaces gin, grounding the classic Negroni in rich, molasses-forward depth. The pineapple frond garnish adds a bright, tropical aromatic lift to the bitter finish.

This is such a fantastic riff on a classic! The addition of gold rum really changes the character of the drink in the best way possible. Thanks for sharing your tip on the pineapple fronds!
