Oh la la!! A divinely French-inspired, cocktail based around a delicious watermelon liqueur. I went all out and used as many French ingredients as I could: gin, liqueur, and sparkling wine. Basil isn’t automatically associated with France, but it’s used in a lot of different dishes. It’s summer in a glass, perfect for this uncomfortably hot weather today. Cheers y’all!!

Bartender
Hi there! I've been a bartender at the same restaurant for over 10 years. My favorite spirits to work with are rum (love a good tiki drink!), gin and amaros. I love to garden and I often use the herbs and produce I grow to make syrups and infusions. Cheers y'all! ...

View MoreGently muddle basil leaves and simple syrup in a shaker. Add remaining ingredients, except sparkling wine, and ice. Shake to chill, double-strain into a coupe glass. Top with the sparkling wine and garnish.
Editor's Note
Citadelle gin and Combier watermelon liqueur anchor this French-inspired refresher. A splash of sparkling wine provides a crisp, effervescent finish to the herbal basil notes.
