For my second outing with the Serrano tequila from @fierotequila, I wanted to create a cocktail that highlights the spiciness of the liquor. A highball is perfect for this task. Flavor composition: cherry+chili The fizz in this drink brings the chili notes to the tip of the tongue. The cherries with their floral, jammy flavors provide a very interesting contrast to the chili in the tequila, making for a combination that somehow just works. Angostura bitters create a more rounded sip.

It all started when a dear friend gifted me the Drunken Botanist and that was all the push I needed to dive head first into the world of mixology! Being a firm believer in a rock-solid foundation, I completed the BarSmarts program to gain the basic knowledge required to start exploring this world. Having always been very passionate about food and an avid baker, I love to approach cocktails as a chef would- employing interesting techniques and sometimes very whacky ingredients to create libation...

View MoreAdd maraschino cherries along with tequila to a highball glass and muddle. Add the agave syrup and Angostura bitters, then top with club soda. Stir gently to combine. Enjoy!
Editor's Note
Spicy serrano‑tequila meets sweet cherry fizz, creating a lively highball that balances heat and fruit.

This sounds like a fantastic way to highlight the heat in the Fiero Serrano Tequila! The cherry and chili pairing is such a classic combination.

This sounds so refreshing. Is your agave syrup a 1:1 ?
