The zombie cocktail, or zombie punch, includes three different rums and is a powerful drink. It was invented by Donn Beach , the “father of tiki culture,” at his Hollywood restaurant, Don the Beachcomber. Apparently, Beach limited his customers to only two zombies, otherwise they would become “like the walking dead.” The recipe below is for the original 1930s version, but there are many variations and you can reduce the rum to make it less boozy.

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a tall Collins glass, hurricane glass, or tiki mug filled with cracked or crushed ice. Garnish with the pineapple wedge and/or other tropical fruits.
