Been trying to come up with some nice flavors to go well with some blueberry/raspberry syrup and since I am a sucker for vanilla vodka so that combo was the starting point. Made a few variations but found this to be the one I enjoyed the most after adding some sage as garnish and the slight bitterness from the Campari.

View MoreTo make the syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan and simmer until the sugar dissolves. Add the blueberries and raspberries, muddle them into the mixture, and strain. I always infuse a half vanilla bean to get the round vanilla flavor to my vodka. Just let it sit for a few days and it will be yummy. Add everything in the shaker with the sage leaves and muddle it a bit. Shake with ice to chill. Serve over a nice large clear ice cube and enjoy.
Editor's Note
Vanilla-infused vodka meets a house-made berry syrup in this balanced sour. A touch of Campari provides a bitter counterpoint to the fruit, while fresh sage adds an aromatic finish.
