View MoreAdd all ingredients to a mixing glass. Add ice and stir to dilute. Strain into a rocks glass over large clear ice. Using a cloche smoke with hickory. No garnish. *To make the syrup, juice and heat some baby carrots and add half weight (or volume) of turbinado sugar. Stir to dissolve. Strain until no chunks. I found 1:2 ratio gave the best level of sweetness but YMMV
Editor's Note
Rye and coffee liqueur find an unlikely partner in house-made carrot syrup. Hickory smoke ties the earthy, bitter profile together in this complex, spirit-forward sipper.
