Patio-Ope Weather As we enter the dreaded “false spring” season here in the Midwest, I thought it necessary to take advantage of any random patio drinking opportunities I can get. With that in mind, I give you “Pati-Ope Weather.” For the uninitiated, Ope is a Midwest phrase uttered without conscious thought any time you even partially inconvenience someone as your walking by. It’s strange, we know!

I'm just a guy who, like most people two years go, found himself with a lot free time and a bar full of odds and ends and figured out he liked making cocktails while in quarantine! I love to cook and experiment in the kitchen, this seemed like the next great frontier to scratch that creative itch!...

Editor's Note
Bourbon meets the smoky heat of Ancho Reyes in this Midwest-inspired highball. Blackberry ginger ale provides a crisp, fruit-forward finish perfect for the patio.

Do you think I could muddle some fresh blackberries and use regular ginger ale in this? Cause this sounds fantastic with the Ancho Chile Reyes.
