Pineapple Sage Mule

Submitted on: January 27, 2024
This is legit my favorite mule cocktail variation. I'm doing a mocktail version of this one, but if that’s not your style, just swap in vodka or gin rather than the non-alcoholic variety I’m using. Ginger beer is often an overpowering flavor, but the other components of this drink stand up well against it. There is a lot of spanking going on in this one, so let out some aggression and get that sage aromatic with a good slap! Cheers!

View MoreAdd all ingredients (without the ginger beer) to a shaker tin filled with ice. Double strain over fresh ice into a copper mule tin. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a slapped sage leaf. Cinnamon syrup* Add 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, and 3-4 cinnamon sticks to a pot. Heat to dissolve sugar and let simmer for 10 minutes. Strain and store for up to 2 weeks.
Editor's Note
Pineapple and cinnamon provide a tropical, spiced backbone to this mule. Slapping the sage leaf is essential to unlock the aromatics that define this refreshing variation.

This sounds like a fantastic, aromatic twist on a classic mule! The combination of pineapple and sage is inspired. Thanks for sharing the recipe for your cinnamon syrup as well!
