Embalm'd & Embitter'd
Submitted on: August 16, 2022
I bought some new Pilsner glasses and wanted to make something tiki to put them to use. I really liked the bitter-sweet combination of passionfruit and Suze. Though Suze definitely has some bitter citrus notes to it, I’m surprised how well these work together and I’m keen to explore this combo more. Peychaud's adds a welcome bitter-cherry and anise note that strengthens as you imbibe, and the soft demerara rum ties things together with some Christmas-y brown sugar and faint hogo notes. Enjoy.

Editor's Note
A tiki sour with a bitter French heart. Tropical passion fruit and demerara rum meet the earthy, floral bite of Suze gentian liqueur, all under a float of aromatic anise bitters.
