I made a new batch of the Smuggler's Cove hibiscus liqueur recipe, which is one of my favourites. Felt like trying it out in a simple spin on a potent staple. Recommended Brands: •Appleton Estate Reserve 8 •Lemon Hart 1804 •Smugglers Cove hibiscus liqueur (recipe) •Matt Pietrek/Cocktail Wonk analog fassionola (recipe)

Combine all ingredients in a drink mixer tin with 1 1/2 cups of crushed ice. Flash blend, then open pour into a Hurricane or other large glass. Garnish with dried hibiscus flowers and a lemon wedge speared with a storm-ravaged umbrella.

A Hurricane elevated with two complex homemade modifiers. Floral hibiscus liqueur and multi-fruit fassionola replace simple passion fruit for a deeper, funkier Tiki experience.

Hurricane isn't my favorite classic, but this version sounds amazing. Need to try and make that syrup. It keeps making the list.
