Vieux Carre

For my return to posting my cocktails, I decided to go with a cocktail that I only tried for the first time in Providence this weekend (and forgot to photograph). Not sure on the exact liquors used at the bar, but my Rye selection is lacking so I went with Woodford Reserve Bourbon here. I am a big fan of strong, spiritous cocktails, and this one fits the bill extremely well. I really enjoyed the one served up in Rhode Island so decided to do the same, though most recipes call for ice and a rocks...

Editor's Note
A classic Vieux Carré, swapping traditional rye for bourbon's softer caramel notes. This New Orleans icon layers whiskey, cognac, and sweet vermouth for a deeply complex and satisfying sipper.

This is a fantastic choice for a nightcap! The Vieux Carré is such a timeless classic. How are you finding the transition to shooting your cocktail photography in RAW?
