Cynar is an Italian bittersweet liqueur created in 1952 in Padua by the Dalle Molle brothers, made from an infusion of 13 herbs and plants — most notably the artichoke (Cynara scolymus), from which it takes its name. Despite its artichoke base, Cynar tastes herbal and bittersweet rather than vegetal. Bottled at 16.5% ABV.
