A “Jungle Bird riff” in the same way that mashed potatoes are a French fry riff. Andy Boimila and I were joking about how any drink with pineapple & Campari (or even sometimes with neither!) gets called a Jungle Bird riff. Point is, this is definitely not actually a Jungle Bird riff, but it is terrific! Tart strawberry pairs well with sweet banana and the bitter Campari, with a supporting cast of classic exotic flavours.
Ingredients
- 2 ozStrawberry-infused White Rum
- 0.5 ozPineapple-infused Campari
- 0.25 ozCrème De Banane
- 1 ozFresh Lime Juice
- 0.5 ozHoney Syrup
- 0.25 ozBG Reynolds Passion Fruit Tropical Cocktail Syrup
- 2 dash(es)Ginger Bitters
- 12 ozRoughly Crushed Ice

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake until frosty, then open pour into a double old-fashioned glass. Top with more ice if necessary. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, mint sprig and swizzle stick.

Strawberry-infused rum and banana liqueur transform this tropical sour into a complex, layered sipper. The ginger bitters provide a necessary spicy backbone to the fruit-forward profile.
