Mom’s Mai Tai

Submitted on: December 8, 2022
I was feeling uninspired, so I asked my mom to pick a liqueur and I’d build a drink around it. She said Grand Marnier and Frangelico. Orange liqueur and a nutty sweetener—my mind only went to one place. While a riff on the most classic of tiki classics may not be the most creative, it was very delicious. The classics are the classics for a reason!

Editor's Note
A clever Mai Tai riff that swaps orgeat for hazelnut liqueur and curaçao for Grand Marnier. The result is a richer, nuttier profile balanced by Jamaican rum funk and bright lime.
