Not quite ready to be back from a week in the Canadian Rockies, and way too apprehensive about starting my OB rotation tomorrow. So here’s a refreshing sip I mixed up prior to vacation. Fingers crossed for flawlessly placed epidurals that work perfectly 😅. The tamarind soda has such a unique flavor that would be difficult to substitute, but I’m sure this would be tasty with some ginger beer too.
Ingredients
- 2 ozDented Brick Craft Rum
- 1 ozGrapefruit Juice
- 0.25 ozPineapple Amaro
- 0.75 mlGrapefruit & Hops Bitters
- 6 ozTamarind Soda
Instructions
Garnish
Build
Glass
pineapple fronds and dried grapefruit
Shake the rum, juice, amaro, and bitters with ice and strain into a glass with fresh ice. Top with the tamarind soda. Garnish with dried grapefruit and serve with a straw.
Editor's Note
Tamarind soda provides a tangy, earthy backbone to this tropical highball. Pineapple amaro and grapefruit-hops bitters add a sophisticated, bitter-sweet finish.
