A twist on an "Archangel" incorporating San Miguel Southwestern Gin and the Italian Amaro, Aperol, a grapefruit flavored liqueur. Hence the Italian variant of Saint Michael the Archangel's name.

Founder of Old Harbor
Got my start in the craft beer industry by helping set-up Mike Hess Brewing Co. After a few years decided that whiskey, rum and gin were more my speed, so I started Old Harbor Distilling Co. We have been operating since September 28, 2014 on our still, 'The Belafonte'. I also bartend at our speakeasy, The Prop Shop, which is a member's only location hidden in our East Village Warehouse next to Petco Park....

In a mixing glass add two slices of cucumber and lightly press with a muddle. Add Aperol, San Miguel Southwestern Gin, Lime Juice. Stir with ice until chilled. Double strain into a coupe. Garnish with a slice of cucumber.
Editor's Note
Southwestern gin meets Italian bitter in this crisp, cucumber-forward riff on the Archangel. A clean, spirit-forward sipper that balances botanical depth with a bright, vegetal finish.

This sounds like a fantastic, refreshing twist on a classic! The addition of cucumber to the Archangel profile is a great touch.
