Thai Basil Gin Smash

Inspired by my abundant garden and my friend's travels in Thailand I made this simple gin smash. Instead of plain simple syrup I infused it with kaffir lime leaves to add more of those Thai flavors. I also used a Vietnamese gin but another gin would work as well.

Hi there! I've been a bartender at the same restaurant for over 10 years. My favorite spirits to work with are rum (love a good tiki drink!), gin and amaros. I love to garden and I often use the herbs and produce I grow to make syrups and infusions. Cheers y'all! ...

Editor's Note
Kaffir lime leaf syrup bridges the gap between a classic gin smash and Thai aromatics. Fresh basil adds a peppery, herbal finish to this warm-weather sipper.
